Steve Stephens Responds to Stan Pate’s Lawsuit and Reiterates Commitment to Tuscaloosa Community
TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – Tuscaloosa businessman Steve Stephens has become the latest target of developer Stan Pate’s efforts to intimidate those who stand up to his bullying.
A lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa, Mr. Stephens opposed any attempts by Pate to circumvent the city’s building regulations near Stephens’ neighborhood and diminish Tuscaloosa’s quality of life. Mr. Stephens firmly stands by his decision to protect the best interests of his community.
“As a resident of the City of Tuscaloosa, I took a strong stance against Mr. Pate’s attempt to violate building regulations that would have harmed our community,” Stephens said.
“My position was the right thing to do then. It is the right thing to do now.”
Mr. Stephens believes the lawsuit filed by Pate is unfounded, retaliatory, and an attempt to bully and intimidate all those who challenge Pate’s misadventures.
Stephens concluded, “Just as I have done in the past, I will vigorously pursue justice and resist Mr. Pate’s efforts at coercion.”
